Connect a Prop Over Bluetooth
PropPal talks to your prop directly over Bluetooth: no cables, no pairing codes, no account needed just to connect. Here's how to get from powered-on to controlling it.
Steps
- 1
Power on the prop
Make sure it's plugged in or has fresh batteries, and that it isn't already connected to another app, including the manufacturer's own app. A prop can only talk to one app at a time.
- 2
Turn on Bluetooth
Enable Bluetooth on the phone or computer you're using PropPal from.
- 3
Open the Props tab in PropPal
Tap Connect a Prop and wait for it to appear in the scan list. It should show up within a few seconds if it's powered on and nearby.
- 4
Select your prop and confirm
Tap it in the list. Once connected, you'll see its name confirmed as connected in the app.
- 5
Name it, if you have more than one
Own two of the same model? Tap the pencil icon next to its name on the home screen to give it a custom label so you always know which one you're controlling.
Troubleshooting
- 1
My prop won't show up when scanning
Make sure it's powered on, nearby, and not already connected to another phone or app. Also double-check Bluetooth is turned on for your device.
- 2
I can't connect to a second prop
PropPal only stays connected to one prop at a time. If you're already connected somewhere and try to connect elsewhere, it'll ask if you want to disconnect first. Say yes and it'll switch over.
