PropPal is a Bluetooth controller app for holiday and Halloween animatronic props, developed by Ryan Roark. This privacy policy explains how the app handles your information.
Information We Collect
PropPal is designed with privacy in mind. The app stores only what is necessary to provide its features, and nearly all of that data lives entirely on your device.
- Prop connections — the name and identifier of a Bluetooth prop you connect to are stored locally on your device, so the app can reconnect to it later. This never leaves your device.
- Voice scripts (premium voices only) — if you generate a premium voice clip, the script text you type is sent to PropPal's backend, which forwards it to ElevenLabs to generate audio. See Third-Party Services below.
- Anonymous purchase identifier — a random identifier generated on your device — not tied to your name, Apple ID, or any other personal information — used to track your premium voice credit balance.
- Generated audio clips — clips you generate or record in Sound Studio are stored locally on your device.
No Account Required
PropPal does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number. The app works entirely without registration.
Data Storage
All saved props, generated audio clips, and preferences are stored locally on your device. Aside from the anonymous purchase identifier and credit balance described above, PropPal does not operate any servers or databases that store your personal information.
Microphone
PropPal requests access to your microphone so you can record custom audio clips in Sound Studio. Recordings are only made when you explicitly start one, and the resulting clip is stored only on your device. PropPal does not access your microphone in the background.
In-App Purchases
PropPal offers premium voice credits as consumable in-app purchases. All purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. PropPal does not collect or store your payment information — billing is handled entirely by Apple and is subject to Apple's Terms of Sale. Purchase receipts are verified directly against Apple's own servers.
Analytics & Advertising
PropPal does not use any analytics SDKs, crash reporting services, or advertising networks. No usage data, behavioral data, or device identifiers are collected or transmitted by the app. The app contains no advertisements.
Third-Party Services
PropPal uses the following third-party services:
ElevenLabs
Used to generate premium voice audio. When you generate a premium clip, the script text you typed is sent to ElevenLabs via PropPal's backend. It is not stored by PropPal's backend beyond what's needed to complete the request. The free voice option runs entirely on-device via Apple's built-in text-to-speech and never leaves your phone.
Apple StoreKit
Used to process and verify premium voice credit purchases. All payment information is handled by Apple. See Apple's Terms of Sale for details.
Children's Privacy
PropPal does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require account creation or any personal information to use. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted information through the app, please contact us so we can address it.
Data Deletion
Deleting the PropPal app removes all locally stored data — saved props, generated audio clips, and preferences — from your device. To request deletion of the anonymous purchase identifier and credit balance kept server-side, contact us below.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
